Economic Census 2016 Analysis of Listing Potential Economic of Poso Regency

The development of non-agricultural sector in Poso District during 2006-2016 period showed encouraging growth with a high percentage increase in the number of businesses. The results of the Economic Census 2016 in Central Sulawesi showed a significant increase in the number of businesses from 2006 to 2016. The number of businesses / companies increased by 80.00 percent, reaching 21,028 businesses in 2016, while in 2006 there were 11,682 businesses. Although the growth of non-farm business sector is so high, agricultural sector is still a major contributor in Poso District GRDP. This shows that the growth of the number of business is dominated by the growth of small micro business which is still relatively small in turn, giving little contribution to PDRB. Based on business scale, the number of businesses / companies in Poso Regency is dominated by micro scale business. Of the 21,028 businesses / companies in Central Sulawesi in 2016, 90.70 percent are micro scale enterprises and 8.46 percent small scale, while the remaining 0.84 percent are medium and large. This indicates that 99.16 percent of businesses / companies in Kabupaten Poso are Micro Small Enterprises (MSEs). Potential of this very large MSE can reasonably be utilized as much as possible in order to support the economy in Poso District because UMK proved able to survive against crisis shocks.
