Launch of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026)

June 9, 2026 | BPS Activities

Poso, June 9, 2026 — A warm morning in Tiwaa Village, North Poso Pesisir District, brought more than just the Village Flower Festival. Amidst the colorful flowers and the friendliness of the residents, a meaningful moment emerged: the send-off of 301 2026 Economic Census Officers (SE2026), who would be deployed throughout Poso Regency.

That day, the village took center stage. The government was present, not behind a desk, but in the midst of the community. This activity was part of the "Regent Works from the Village" program, a concrete step to ensure that development is not distant—that the voices of the people are heard directly from where they live and struggle.

Present at the event were the Regent and Deputy Regent of Poso, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, heads of vertical agencies, banks, regional apparatus, state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), sub-district heads, village heads, and religious and community leaders. But more than the presence of officials, what was strong was the spirit of togetherness—that the Economic Census is a shared responsibility.

When the Mandate is Placed, Hope is Released

The farewell ceremony was simple, yet full of meaning.

One by one, representatives of the officers came forward. In a silent and respectful atmosphere, the Poso Regent symbolically placed ID cards on the officers. The cards may be small, but they held great significance—a sign that the officers now shoulder the state's mandate to record the community's economic life honestly and responsibly.

Shortly after, everyone's gaze lifted to the sky.

Dozens of doves were released. Their white wings soared freely, carving lines across the sky of Tiwaa Village. They became a powerful symbol—of the honesty that must be maintained, the trust that must be upheld, and the hope that must be spread throughout Poso.

In that moment, it felt like more than just officers were being released. Great hope was in the air.

Moments after the dove release, the entire audience returned their attention to the main stage. There, the Regent of Poso, along with members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), signed a commitment to support the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census.

This signing served as a powerful symbol that the success of the census is not solely the responsibility of BPS, but rather a shared commitment of all government elements and stakeholders in Poso Regency.

One by one, the regional leaders signed—a simple yet meaningful gesture. It conveyed their commitment to support, oversee, and ensure the successful and smooth running of the 2026 Economic Census, providing tangible benefits for regional development.

This momentum confirms that the hope that was just released to the heavens is now being reaffirmed on earth—through a shared commitment to work, synergize, and maintain data integrity for the future of Poso.

A Touching Appeal from the Poso Regent

In his remarks, the Poso Regent emphasized that the launch of the 2026 Economic Census was not merely a ceremonial event.

It was the first step towards a comprehensive understanding of the pulse of the community's economic life.

In a firm yet touching tone, the Poso Regent addressed the entire community, especially business owners:

“Therefore, I urge all business owners in Poso Regency, from micro to large scale, to welcome the officers with open arms. Please provide honest, accurate answers that reflect the conditions on the ground. Your active participation in this Economic Census is not merely fulfilling an administrative obligation, but a vital investment for our region. The data you provide will serve as a primary foundation for the government in designing targeted, inclusive economic policies that will strengthen the region's economic competitiveness in the future.”

The message was simple, yet profound. It positioned the community not as objects of data collection, but as a vital part of the direction of development.

301 Officers Deployed to Cover All of Poso

The 301 officers released in SE2026 will work throughout Poso Regency—from the coast to the interior. They will be at the forefront of providing accurate and comprehensive economic data.

Their task is no easy feat.

They will travel from village to village, knocking on doors, greeting people warmly, and gathering information that is scattered throughout the community's daily lives.

They will meet with small traders in traditional markets, home business owners, farmers, fishermen, and even large business owners. Everyone has a story, and each story will become part of the larger picture of the regional economy.

"We are ready to implement and ensure the success of the 2026 Economic Census with all our heart, dedication, and integrity. This is our commitment to providing the best for the region and the nation...!!"

Two Stages, One Goal: Comprehensive Data

The 2026 Economic Census in Poso Regency will be conducted in two main stages.

The first stage is data collection on Medium and Large Enterprises. In this stage, business owners will complete questionnaires independently, assisted by BPS officers. This approach is expected to provide more detailed and accurate data based on business conditions.

The second stage will run from June 15 to August 31, 2026, using a door-to-door method.

In this stage, officers will go directly to the field, collecting data on all residents—both business owners and non-business owners. No one will be excluded. Everyone will be recorded as part of a comprehensive picture of the community's economy.

This is the most touching stage.

Because here, officers not only record but also listen. They will witness firsthand how people survive, adapt, and continue to strive amidst various economic challenges.

Data That's More Than Just Numbers

For the Poso Regency Statistics Agency (BPS), the 2026 Economic Census is more than just data collection. It's a major mission to provide credible, consistent, secure, and reliable data.

This data will serve as the basis for:

  1. developing development policies
  2. determining aid programs
  3. and strengthening regional economic competitiveness.

Every recorded number is not an empty statistic. It contains life stories, struggles, and hopes.

Therefore, the success of the census depends heavily on community participation.

An Invitation to Share in Success

Through this momentum, the Poso community is invited to participate:

💙 Welcome the 2026 Economic Census Officers

💙 Fill in Your Data Correctly

💙 Confidentiality is Guaranteed

This invitation is not just a slogan, but an effort to build trust that all data provided will be kept confidential and used for development purposes.

From the Village, the Future Begins

Toward the end of the activity, the spirit of togetherness was increasingly palpable. The voice echoed not only from the stage, but from the hearts of the people in attendance:

“Ma’i moo, let’s make the 2026 Economic Census a success for a progressive, competitive, and sustainable Poso, moving towards a progressive Indonesia… MAROSO…!!”

That day, in Tiwaa Village, an important step had begun.

These steps may have been simple—knocking on doors, asking questions, taking notes—but they were actually building the foundation of the future.

Because from the village, from the community, and from honest data—

the direction of development is determined, policies are formulated, and hopes are fought for.
